Talking with others today, a fit family friend admitted that they're quite anxious. As we all dug into reasons why, they talked about their schedule, how they always have something going on. They've got gym in the morning, tracking calories all day, professional and personal plans, and even appointments with family and friends.
I mean, things get done, but they frequently "break down" from the stress of it all. Actually, their partner has to spend time winding them down frequently. It's great to see their results, though. In fitness and life goals, things are great. But yeah, self-maintenance is tough.
Thinking back to when I've had weight and fitness goals under control, I realize I had this "regimented" mindset. Sure, a bit of stress is normal, but it seems the anxiety is a bit much. After taking some time away from these goals (pandemic pudge lol), I'm much more relaxed. I mean, I have to relax, otherwise I can't breathe when I suck in my gut, heh heh!
So tell me, denizens of r/loseit -- how do you relax when you've got to do all the things to make weight loss happen? Would be nice if we could all just Weight Loss and Chill.
