No matter how you swing it you’re going to have to eat less calories than you burn to get to your goal weight. So why eat shit you don’t like?
I haven’t seen anyone post this in a while but Greg Doucette on youtube has been the most clear cut and valuable resource I’ve used in the last few months. I’m not saying he is the end-all be-all but he has worked for me. Greg also has a lot of solutions/recipes that are satiating and also look like they taste great. Food that’s filling, tasty, and help meets your goals is exactly what he teaches in his videos.
A few things I’ve pulled from Coach Greg recently:
-
Stop eating so much! How? Sleep more. Drink more water. Drink coffee. Move more. “Sugar free drinks / zero calorie drinks are fine” in his words, it’s about the calories in vs calories out. Give yourself less time to sit on your ass and eat.
-
Satiation: “you could probably eat a whole bag of Doritos but you probably would get really full at one or two whole chicken breast” So what’s a good snack? Greg says Smart Pop popcorn.
-
Watch your cooking oil/olive oil/butter intake. One tablespoon of olive oil is 100 calories!!!! Go pour a tbsp of olive oil and tell me how much you normally use compared to that.
-
Don’t blindly trust the calorie content of packaged foods or the calories “burned” on your apple watch. Error in the way of caution. Don’t assume because the apple watch says you burned 1000 calories that you can eat more. You won’t see results.
There’s a lot of great tips I pick up every time I watch another video, and implemented them into my own life. Does anyone have any other recommendations for youtube channels to watch?
