Can anyone help get out of my current plateau?
I am getting seriously discouraged when comparing my progress with others. People are transforming their bodies in weeks and here I am virtually unchanged in 4 months despite regular exercise and dieting. What's worse is if I consume 2000 cals in a day I gain 1-2 kgs and 3-4 cms overnight that takes another week to shed.
Height: 5'4
SW: 97 kgs CW: 94 kgs GW: 70 kgs
Start waist: 110 cm Current waist: 102 cm (plateued since end of March)
Started on Jan 1 2020. What I've been doing till now:
1) IF: 20:4 3-5 times a week, other days 18:6
2) Workout: Strength training 2-5 times a week, cardio 2-3 times a week. Avg 600-800 calories burnt per session.
3)Diet: Restricting intake to 1500 cals max. Protein heavy diet. Lots of veggies, chicken, eggs, grams and pulses. Eliminated rice, bread, junk food, colas / chocolates on 28 days every month. Eating out once per month in a controlled manner.
Effect: 1) Strength: Definite improvement. Was struggling with 5 kgs dumbbells, now doing most exercises with 7.5 and 10kg dumbbells with proper form. Doing 20-30 reps per exercise.
2) Stamina/Cardio: Can exercise for longer periods.
3) Weight: Only 3 kgs lost till now
4) Waist: Went down a couple of pant sizes but not making much progress over the last two weeks.
5) Body fat: Some fat loss in face and belly area. But legs, hips and arms are still chunky.
Anyone with similar experience?
