18M, 1000 calories, 140 pounds, 5'7, a question.

Sorry if this isn't the right place. Okay, I've been trying to lose some fat. Even though 140 pounds doesn't seem like a lot, I have some fat that I need to get rid of. I have been counting the calories of everything that I have been eating and have been on a 1000 calorie diet. I'll admit, I'm probably eating more lightly than I should be, but it hasn't seem to have caused me much issues. Should I be eating more calories as I really do not have much weight to lose or is it okay to keep going at it this fast? Haven't really spoken with my family about it. Again, sorry if this isn't the right place.
