About a month ago, my girlfriend and I decided to finally eat healthy and try to lose weight. We started to track the calories of everything we eat, and work out regularly (2x running/week, and 4x home workout/week). We've also implemented intermittent fasting and eat almost no carbs. We have consistently maintained eating max. 1200 calories a day: for me this means a 1000 calorie deficit, for my girlfriend a 500-700 calorie deficit.
For me this has worked out pretty well: I've already lost 8-9 lbs. But for my girlfriend, it's been a very frustrating month. She started by losing 3lbs in the first 10 days; I assume that's mostly water weight. The period after that, she hasn't been able to lose weight anymore, matter of fact even gained almlost 0.5lbs. Her starting weight was 145 lbs, after a month of being in a deficit her weight is 142.5lbs.
We are sure we are tracking our food accurately (weighing everything, scanning packages with an app). But somehow everything she does, doesn't work. It's not motivating at all for her to put all this work in and see little to no result. Is there something she might be doing wrong? Should she be more patient?
