Kinda lost on starting calorie deficit.

So, I guess to start off I'll tell you what I'm at right now and where I want to be. I'm currently weighing 230 lbs at 5'9/5'10. I'd love to be at 170. I did the one website that shows me my calories to stay at my weight. It was around 2300. (If someone can link it ill retake it for more accurate numbers if wanted). Basically I took those numbers and looked at it and decided to just cut my calories down to 1500-1600. Not being too strict but staying within that range. I drink about 48 oz of water a day. I've been doing this a few days now and I havent really seen any type of budging on my scale. It's really just stayed the same at 230. I'm just confused I guess, and mostly discouraged because a lot of people ive seen post on here have see results within the first week or so. Help? Advice?
