It's getting warm where I am, and I pulled out my stash of hiking shorts/capris only to find that all of them are too big. They're not as comfortable and don't look as good with a belt as jeans do, and they're out of stock online so I can't order new ones and I can't go shopping for something different because quarantine.
BUT.
I complained to my mom about it, and she sent me a "sewing hacks" video she'd seen about how to take in the waist of pants easily, and it WORKED. The pants are loose-fitting anyways, so they don't even look weird or bulge strangely or anything like that! I took mine in one inch on each pocket, and that was enough, but you could probably get away with 1.5-2 inches per side. The stitches are pretty big, so it was fast and easy and would be easy to unpick and redo once the pants start falling off again.
If anybody else has this problem where the pants are juuustt too big to get away with wearing, but you can't wear a belt, this is a great way to make it work until you get to a goal weight and can buy new pants.
Here's the video; instructions for what I did start at 1:30 https://www.facebook.com/emgmakeiteasy/videos/2661980027255512/
