Hello! Since I(25F) finished puberty, I’ve always been what people sometimes refer to as “skinny fat”. Been this way since I was 13 to now. Between the ages of ~8-13, I was overweight, I don’t know if being overweight during puberty sort of set my metabolism and natural body composition at a higher fat %, or if I am just doing everything completely wrong. I worked hard to lose weight after puberty, began running 3 miles a day with my dad every day, became vegetarian, and by high school, I had a slim frame, but I still had a decent amount of tummy and thigh fat. Now I follow a completely plant based diet, low carb and processed food, I do weight training, run ~5 miles a week, eat around 1600 cal a day and I can’t seem to lose my tummy or thigh fat. And it’s not just a little pooch or something, it forms a hefty roll when I sit down. I am currently 5’6 138lbs, which I know is a completely healthy BMI, but I don’t know what I am doing wrong that is making me have such a high percentage of body fat (26%). Does anyone have a similar body type to mine and were you able to do anything to help you lose excess fat?
