Am I damaging my metabolism with my lifestyle choices?

Hello! I am a 23 year old female who has always struggled with body image. I have been trying to lose weight for years and have yo-yo dieted the entire time. I would either be meticulously dieting and restricting, or I would be binge eating and binge drinking all the time. I’m finally at a place in my life where I am not being too restrictive and I allow myself to live a little. Every weekend, I like to drink and party a bit. And I don’t like to hold back or count the calories of my drinks. Even during this whole quarantine, I spend the weekends drinking with my boyfriend at our apartment and enjoying myself. I know that there are many calories in alcohol, so I will typically compensate by not eating as much food the day that I plan on drinking. I’ll do that, or I will not eat a whole lot the following day to make up for the calories I consumed the previous night. I do this with food too. If I overeat a lot on a certain day, I will make sure to eat very few calories the next day to “balance it out.” My question is: is this an effective strategy? Or am I putting my metabolism through the ringer? If I’m messing up my metabolism, are there any suggestions on how to go about eating when I plan to drink heavily on the weekends?

Any info would be appreciated!
