I (21F) started reducing calorie intake and exercising more regularly two weeks ago. I started at 152 lbs. Today I weighed in at 148 lbs!
I'm sure most of if not all of those four pounds is water weight, but I'm really happy with this progress. It means what I lose from here on out will be actual fat loss. I hope I can keep it up throughout the remaining semester, even if not at this pace.
This past weekend, I did my first real grocery run since my diet began (I walked there and back!) I didn't buy any soda! Instead, I got fruit for snacks. Rather than buying soda at vending machines to get my caffeine fix, this week I'm going to try grabbing coffee (nothing super sugary of course). It may not be as quick, but I hoping to really start winging myself off soda rather than just cutting back on the amount with calorie counting.
Working out more often is making me sore, but I know from past experience that this will ease up pretty soon and I just have to take care of myself better post-work. Still my thighs are not loving me right now...
I guess my biggest worry right now is that my metabolism will get used to the new calorie budget and make losing weight so much harder that I'll get discouraged and give up. I'm trying to mentally prep for that likelihood.
Week Three starts tomorrow. Wish me luck!
