I’ve been working on losing weight for a few months now but have been more serious since the end of October. In December I started with a personal trainer once a week and I think that has helped me more than anything, not because I had no idea what I was doing but because it holds me accountable and I know that no matter what, I will work out one day a week. When you work out hard one day, you wanna make it count so it makes you want to do a few more days. I’ve lost close to 30 lbs since I started and I’m feeling really good and getting my confidence back. I done nothing different except count calories along with it. I’ve fallen off the wagon over the holidays and gained and lost it again or I’d probably be closer to 40 lbs lost. What matters is that if you slip up a few days, know that you can get right back on it because a few pounds gained back is better than where you started.
As I lose weight, it’s crazy how differently people are treating me. Guys go out of their way to hold the door open for me and let me go first instead of just holding it behind them. People compliment me on random things that they never noticed before, like when I got my nose pierced, no one noticed 30 lbs ago but now that’s the first thing people talk about. Maybe I lost weight in my nose? People are calling me pretty a lot and I’m not used to it. It’s so nice and also kind of sucks that bigger people are treated so differently.
