Opinions on yoga as a form of exercise?

Hi everyone!

For background, I am: 22 (almost 23!) years old, I'm female, 165 - 168 cm tall, I can never be sure. I now weigh 75 kilos. I've been on my weightloss journey since August/September 2019. I've lost (and kept off) 5 kilos, and I'm pushing for 15 more.

My main form of exercise is maximizing the amount of walking in my daily life. I.e., I walk distances where I'd normally take a bus/tram/metro, or if it's a nice day then I walk around the city before going home. I also get off a stop or two early on my way home, and walk the rest, etc. I've recently added squats to my regime, but that's a bit intermittent.

Now, I've been trying my hand at a few different types of exercise, but nothing's really stuck. I'm maxed walking in my regular life, and now I want to do like a half hour/one hour workout at home, to add to my schedule. I'm interested in trying out yoga for its variety of supposed benefits, but I'm curious as to you guys' experience with it as a form of exercise?

Would you recommend it for the purpose of exercising? I'm not asking about the calming/meditative effects, since I've got some info on that already. I mean, specifically, in terms of fitness.

Thanks in advance!
