Intermittent fasting help, fake hunger?

I started intermittent fasting around 3 weeks ago. I’m doing the 16:8 fast. My window is from 12-8. I’ve noticed that most of the time, I’m not really hungry in the evenings but I think I scare myself into thinking that I will get super hungry in the middle of the night or the next morning if I don’t eat. So most evenings I will make dinner to eat even if I’m not that hungry. I may feel a twinge if hunger but it’s mostly my mind telling me to eat so I’ll be ok. Has anyone else gone through this? Does anyone have tips on how to stop this? I want to try going to sleep without eating if I don’t really want to but I always cave into my fear. Any suggestions are appreciated
