I've never been active in my life. I want to lose weight but I also really want to get in shape (numbers aside) because my grandma never exercised and now can't even walk 10 feet and I don't want to be the same. I tried running for the first time today and struggled to run a quarter mile at what most would consider a slow pace. I have never run a mile in my life but I really want to prove to myself that I can. Has anyone successfully gone from inactive to moderately active? It's really embarrassing to be so awful at it and I feel like everyone else at the gym must be judging me because I'm pretty young (18F) and I feel like I should be able to do this.
