Does anyone else feel addicted to sugar?

This might be a stupid question lol.

I don't actually know if it's possible but I've been in the process of seriously changing my eating habits for a few weeks, I noticed the first week I had unintentionally not had any refined carbs/sugar, and by doing so I found that my cravings for things like chocolate had disappeared?

After eating pasta during the second week I found that that night I was craving something sweet and felt almost compelled to eat some chocolate like I physically couldn't stop myself lol

Can someone explain this? And how do I stop feeling this way if I'm to ever eat something like pasta again without wanting to eat an entire block of chocolate?
