Anyone else get overwhelmed by just how long it'll take to hit your goal weight?

Using an online calculator I see it's gonna take ~20 weeks to hit my goal weight, assuming I really stay on top of counting calories and exercise. I mean I know I can do it, just... Damn. 20 weeks? I guess I've been fat for many years so in comparison it's not much but just thinking of going to the gym 3x a week and busting my ass, meticulously counting calories, and avoiding food I want to eat because I'm trying to make it to the finish line before I'm 90, it's rough. Haven't had alcohol in 2 weeks (and counting), which is bittersweet because +money and -calories but I'd be lying if I said taking dank food and strong beer out of life hasn't left me feeling like I'm missing something.

I guess the only way is to take it a day at a time and appreciate the small victories. For the first time in my adult life I have size large shirts that I regularly wear, and I'm capable of doing a couple miles on the elliptical every gym visit... yaaaay
