80 lbs down!

Starting weight, 447 lbs, current weight, 367 lbs. I officially made it to 80 lbs down! :)

I’ve stuck to my frozen meal plans, it lets me control calories, switch up flavors, cook food faster than takeout, and saves me money. Each meal is usually around $2 which is a lot lower than the $5-$10 I was spending per meal on fast food.

I’ve also worked out that I feel better if I eat a higher calorie meal for lunch and a lower calorie meal for dinner. It’s really improved my mood throughout the day.

I also got an Apple Watch and have been filling up those rings almost every day. The workout I do is walking for 30 minutes a day. If the weather isn’t great I actually go to stores and walk there. (Target, grocery stores, that sort of thing). The other two rings fill up pretty quickly without me really having to think about it. The stand goal is easy because I use a sit stand desk at work and I was making regular use of it before the watch, but the reminders to stand are still really nice and helpful. The Apple Watch has been a really great motivator to keep me going.

Walking for even for only 30 minutes a day admittedly took some getting used to. I’m very sedentary, my job is a desk job with no physical activity. In October, before I started this journey, I couldn’t even walk for 5 minutes straight. It’s almost unreal how much better I feel now.

January was full of fluctuations. I was up and down on my weight every few days. The first week was normal for me but the next three were wild. I got the watch in the second week of January and when I handed in walking, my calorie intake was too low to support the activity and I got ravenously hungry. This caused overeating, most of the time with food that was good, vegetables and protein, but I had some cheat meals too.

But by February 1st, I’d worked out how many calories to add so I could adjust to losing weight again. Now, I add in breakfast of coffee which I drink black, and hard boiled eggs. I have 2-3 depending on how I’m feeling.

After dinner, if I’m still feeling too hungry, I have carrots, which have really been great to have. They take a lot of chewing but don’t have a lot of calories so I can eat a handful of them and not have to worry. Each serving is only 35 calories.

After a rough few weeks adjusting, I’m officially 80 lbs down and I’ll be 100 lbs down very soon. I know I still have a long way to go, but it’s really nice to see all the progress I’ve made so far.
