Why do i find it so hard to stick to a diet? How do I stay motivated?

I'm not overweight, neither am I underweight. If I were to describe my body, i would label it as skinny fat.

I'm 17 years old, 5'11, 170 lbs. I've been wanting to lose body fat for quite some time now, but I'm finding it increasingly hard to do so, especially now that it's the holidays.

I'm very active, I exercise everyday, and on top of that I do yoga and dance around crazy an hour a day.

Yet I seem to be getting nowhere, all because I eat a shitton of food, and never have enough self-control to finally commit.

What are some tips you could give me that could help me stay motivated and focused on my goal? Thank you.
