Non Scale Victory: Went to the land of carbs, traveling, and ‘grandma’s cooking’ for four days. Left at 125. Didn’t track while I was gone, but I definitely controlled the “it’s the holiday take it easy” voice that usually overtakes me.
I didn’t eat -as much- as I have in previous years, but I also didn’t eat nearly as well as I generally do. Also had more caloric drinks (coffee ones from their delicious local coffee cart mainly).
When I got home, I anticipated being 131. Convinced. 6 pounds. Because that’s how much I’ve gained before during this short timeframe. I stepped on the scale...
Dude! It was 125!!
I managed to mentally control my intake without ever feeling left out. I recognized being full and didn’t indulge in dessert one night, knowing very well it would REALLY hurt my stomach, and I could just have it in the morning if I wanted it.
Best part is, I know I’m retaining water weight because of my increase in sodium. So once I get back on track this will really be a great stride into January.
TLDR: maintained weight throughout holiday travels. Much proud!
