Been looking to lose some belly fat this winter and went down some deep rabbit holes on nutrition/fitness for the first time on Reddit. It seems the predominant opinion is to cut or eliminate carbs and eat a ton of protein so one can eat less calories overall. I'm asian and i'm accustomed to the opposite (high ratio of carbs with lots of veggies but with more fat than i'd like to think about, some meat mainly fatty cuts) so i don't think i could adapt to that but i can keep my mind open.
Do most people actually require low carb/keto to reduce calorie intake? Is it healthy to eat so much protein? Growing up I was always told to eat at most 2 eggs a day and i love eggs, meat is usually used to improve flavour of vegetable dishes rather than eaten alone.
