So I've been lurking here for the past couple of weeks or so as i has decided to join the gym, eat healthy and lose weight.
A little about me, I am a 30 year old guy and I joined the Gym last monday (2nd December) and my initial weigh in was 97 kgs i.e. appx 215 lbs for my non metric friends. (I am 5'10")
Basically for the last 4 days, my gym routine has been:
- 15 mins on the treadmill (walking 6kmph for 5 mins, then running at 9 kmph for 5 mins and then walking again at 6 kmph for another 5 mins)
- 15 mins on the elliptical trainer
- Jumping Jacks (25x3)
- Crunches (cant really do many of them.. usually first set 15, 2nd set 10 and last set around 6 or 7)
- leg raises (15x3... but the last set i usually run out of steam by 7 or 8)
- push ups (i cant do normal push ups, i do it from my knees.. but Im very weak.. so even then its like 10, 7, 5)
- Dumbell workout ( free weight workouts like dumbell squats and some other exercises i dont really know the names of honestly, i just follow what the instructor shows me)
My diet for the last 4 days:
- 1 tablespoon of peanut butter 45 mins before going to the gym in the morning.
- 2 whole eggs and 2 egg white omelet with onion, tomato and ginger with a small cup of milk and coffee without sugar after coming back from the gym.
- For lunch i have 6 egg whites and a bowl of green veggies.
- for Dinner 300 grams of chicken breast, 2 bowls of green veggies and one bowl of grains (usually moong beans/masoor daal)
So today at the gym i weighed in again and my weight is 91.5 kgs (201 lbs). That is a difference of 5.5 kgs in just 4 days.
What I am wondering is that.. is it really fat loss? or is it just mostly water weight? Am i Ok to lose so much weight in such a short period of time? Should I be eating more?
I feel fine, have more energy than before, my pants and tshirts also feels a bit looser than before which motivates me.
