I am really addicted to junk food and sugar.

When I don't eat junk food and no sweets at all, I can keep up with healthy eating, working out, sleeping at regular times, etc. with a lot less effort. Yes, it's still hard but it doesn't feel like an unrealistic preposition. As soon as I do treat myself to something sweet (fruit excluded) or something resembling junk food though, I fall off everything I build up until that point. It happens immediately. Not just for that thing I ate, not just for that day, but for days on end, often weeks or even months.

I know, addiction is essentially also a medical term, so I have no idea in how far this is actual addiction, but when I read stories of alcoholics or other types of drug-users, the resembles - in a sense - is totally similar. My life revolves completely around the (junk/sweet) food I am eating. The first thing I do after waking up is going to the store to buy junk, while at work, I think about the piece of cake I will have after work, then I stroll around the city and go to some fast food place, and later to another. It's like my whole existence is totally on autopilot. Nothing else is really important.

I know, there are approaches where you can learn or figure out how to really only have that one piece of cake or whatever it might be. And maybe that will be something that I could be doing at some point in my life. But at this very moment, I have to be somewhat honest to myself: I do not have the skills to withstand this at all. No junk, no sugar with 100% avoidance seems to be the only way for me to stay on track.

I ate healthy till last Monday. So from Tuesday till today Sunday I ate total garbage. I didn't do the math, but I probably eradicated almost all the progress I made in the last weeks. It sucks so much.
