How to overcome disapproving partners?

Hi all,

So I have been struggling with mental health for years which, in turn, has had an effect on my physical health. I have been restricting for the last few months and using CICO to lose weight, I have just hit the overweight BMI (yay!).

My issue is that although my partner is incredibly supportive and has been helping me wherever he can (going on walks together, suggesting low calorie alternatives etc.) he is really concerned that I will become obsessed with calorie counting and develop an ED. I understand where he is coming from, however we have the same conversation every week about mental health and it always ends with me promising to let him know if I feel my mental health slipping. It's just frustrating to feel like I'm being monitored or like I can't take care of myself.

My question is has anyone else had the same issue? Is there any way to explain to him that I'm being safe and my motivation is to be healthier all round in a different way?
