How do all of you with partners with unhealthy habits stay on track?

Title says it- boyfriend is a 6’5” chef and though he’s not a perfect image of athleticism I think he’s just gorgeous. He works insane hours so when we have moments together it’s generally doing something relaxing. I’m (5’2” 180lbs) a bartender that works an equally wild schedule so I get it. He currently has a lot more stress associated with his position than I do. I have a minuscule amount more motivation to get out of the house than he but am often sucked into the comfortability of our couch. Now that we’re past the one year cusp of us living together and cooking and eating and drinking and gushing over each other it’s time to start being realistic about lifestyle. We’ve both gained a lot of weight but I’m concerned about myself. I want to be happy and healthy (and still indulge sometimes! Just be smarter).. and I’m having a hard time remaining motivated when my love is in the house asking my attention. It’s not that he’s not encouraging, it’s just that he’s not particularly motivated and it rubs off. I need to be stronger and get over it. Long story long- have any of you struggled with this? How did you overcome it?

Edit: phrasing
