Fellow females, you might not be as undisciplined as you think. Don’t beat yourself up

So I recently came off hormonal contraception because I’d been taking the pill since I was 14 (now 25) and was curious what would happen to my body and personality if I’d stop taking it. About 6-7 years into being on the pill, I switched to the contraceptive ring and that was when my weight started piling on. I thought me gaining weight was just due to my lazy lifestyle, partying, etc. I was constantly hungry and felt like an overly emotional vacuum cleaner (my female friends agreed that this was an accurate description). A few months after I came off the contraceptive ring, I started noticing that dieting was just so much easier than it used to be - food wasn’t the main thing on my mind anymore, I didn’t constantly crave greasy junk food and I didn’t feel as hungry anymore. It’s now been 8 months since I’ve come off the ring and I’ve pretty much lost all the weight it has made me gain and am working on losing just a last few pounds. While on the ring, I was 152 pounds, I am now 138 and aiming for 130ish. I honestly feel like a new person and just wanted to say that you’re not weak or undisciplined for feeling hungry or craving fatty foods. In some cases it really is your body thrown off its natural balance and you shouldn’t beat yourselves up about it.

(Not saying hormonal contraception is universally bad - rather that it is something to look into if you feel like something is off)
