Feeling demotivated to lose weight cause of my wacky cycles

This has been happening to me on and off for ever where I have the motivation and will power to eat well and exercise for 2 weeks, lose a few pounds and then gain it all back around my period. My period lasts for a week but the “period weight” takes forever to finally go, but by the time it does I’m already 1 week away from my next period for the cycle to repeat. I have really short period cycles sometimes 2 in a 28 day period. So between all the bloating and other hormone issues, I’m starting not only to get demotivated, but also confused, because if I’m not able to pass the “water weight” mark, how am I ever going to know when I’m losing actual fat?

I tell myself to be consistent and keep at my diet and exercise regimen but I’ve been going in and out of that same 5 pounds for the past 2 months. I’m thinking of at least quitting the exercise part until I find out what going on. Any clue?
