First I wanna say I'm so proud of everyone here, taking this ongoing journey for a better you. No matter what stage your at, just your commitment is inspiring.
3 years ago, I was in the best shape of my life. I'd made the journey from 305, down to about 210 at my lowest. Then I met a wonderful woman who was active, and adventurous. My eating habits started to slip. We would go to beer festivals, cooking more fun meals and eating out more often. It was balanced a bit by long hikes, I was still running daily, fencing, and started seeing a trainer weekly. Then it happened.
It started as light pains. Chalked up to pushing a little too hard during a workout, or landing on my foot wrong. It would take longer to recover, chalked that up to getting older. Then I wasnt recovering, at all. When it hurt to walk I finally went to the doctor, who confirmed it was arthritis. It's been 4 months since then. I can finally walk without pain. For the first time in over a year I can grip things with any sort of strength. I've lost most of my power, and my eating habits are for shit. I'm also back at around 265 to 270.
It wasn't the arthritis, or my fiance, or anything else that caused it. Just me, and poor choices. Ignoring healthy eating. Ignoring my body saying somethings not right. Don't follow my example. Hopefully by this time next year I'll be back to where I was. It's time to get this car back on the road.
