This is more of an accountability/processing post than anything else mostly to find others who can relate and encourage me/each other. I was doing well today, I was under my calorie limit and wrongly assumed that I could have some flavored almonds while watching videos and be fine calorie wise. Well, the result is that I blew past my calorie limit for the day by like 460 calories…
Fortunately I’m still under my TDEE, but I won’t see the results that I wanted for this week unless I’m careful. That’s something I can do, it’s just going to be harder because I’ve got at least 2 social events this week, both of which involve alcohol (and it’s always so much harder for me to stay under my goal for the day when alcohol is involved). Also, I could use some ideas for how to gracefully turn down food if folks have them.
Side note, and just to vent, I really hate that so many foods have so many calories in them. The only foods that give me the satisfaction of having something “big” volume-wise, but are low calorie are basically salads, celery, and vegetables. It seems like I can’t even put anything on them except hot sauces and vinegars (like balsamic vinegar) because most sauces have more calories than you might expect.
Anyway rant over. Thanks for reading this far if you did. Again, I could use some suggestions for how to turn down food at social events without making the host/preparers feeling weird if you have them! Have a great one!
