All my forks were in the dishwasher so I decided to eat my salad with chopsticks. Maybe it is because I am not quite proficient with using them but it forced me to take small bites and really visualize my meal. Every bite I would take a look at which chunks I could balance. I couldn't just mindlessly stuff my face.
And even though my appetite has been raging this week and I was too busy to have dinner til 9pm I couldn't finish my salad. I'm one of those people that struggles not to finish my plate. The main thing, I've already counted those calories and the idea of figuring out how much to remove from my log bothers me- so I'd rather just eat it. I did recognize my stomachs fullness and tried to push it a little, unfortunately. But after a bit longer I had to stop. The mindfulness really helped me wirh reading my bodies true hunger cues.
I still have a lot of calories today, guess I will finish my salad and have a treat later.
If you struggle with mindless eating too, try a method of cooking or utensils that are unfamiliar to you. It may have you focus on the meal like it did for me!
