Tracking a taste test?

This probably sounds like a silly question but for those of you that prepare food for others do you track your taste tests? Have you changed habits as a result of tracking?

I have little kids, have a small daycare and prepare 98% of my family’s meals.

I find myself tasting a lot of things to make sure it’s suitable. A fishstick, a noodle, etc. also I find myself “cleaning up” small messes… I.e. eating a goldfish cracker that fell, licking a small ketchup spill.

Do you give yourself wiggle room for these things? 100 calories or so? Or just not do them?

I’m just curious how others deal with this.
