My first LoseIt Post

Hi you wonderful people. I am a 60 year old woman who has always struggled with my weight and disordered eating. I have never been obese but I have obese family members and obesity has just been a constant concern/worry in my life, since around the age of 10.

Inspired by an AMAZING young family member who has lost over 100 pounds with the help of a nutritionist (and Reddit!), I decided to go to a nutritionist and try to kickstart a new way of life, free from the anxiety of obesity. I HAVE DONE EVERY DIET. ALL OF THEM. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. Honestly, like many of you, I could probably BE a nutritionist, given all I have done over the years. Nothing the nutritionist said was new to me, but I decided to humble myself, admit my own powerlessness, listen, and use my meetings with the nutritionist to stay accountable.

I am sticking with a strict CiCO program -- after years of low-carb, Keto, Whole30, Atkins, etc. etc. All of those diets worked for me -- I always took off 10 pounds and then plateaued and then gradually lost control of my eating again. This feels different. I am scrupulously tracking, have become much more mindful (trying not to become obsessed), am eating more slowly, and after a little over a month, I have lost around 7 pounds. I'd like to lose 15 more to get back to my more normal "set weight."

I am lucky. I don't have a ton to lose, but when your goal seems far away, the number might not matter as much. I just want to put this out to all of you who are working your programs and sharing your stories. You are kind and supportive. You inspire me, and I'm grateful. KEEP GOING.
