A Better Cook

Has anyone else discovered that eating more healthy and eating more “real foods” has made you a better and more adventurous cook? I’ve always enjoyed cooking but took a lot of short cuts that resulted in not always using the best or freshest ingredients. I now find myself experimenting with all kinds of different spices and eating vegetables that I’ve never bothered with before. In fact, I think I have doubled the variety of spices that I now use and I’m loving it. I loosely follow a keto diet and I realized today that I can’t remember the last time I had a carb that wasn’t a fruit (I really only eat berries) or vegetable. This is huge for me. I am 54 years old and always felt like a meal wasn’t complete without carbs. For whatever crazy reason, I started this journey the weekend prior to Thanksgiving and I am down over 27 pounds so that’s pretty awesome too!
