September 2019 I woke up on the morning of my wife's birthday, tired, sluggish and generally grumpy. While standing in the bathroom I looked in the mirror and just thought to myself..
"What the f*** have you done"
I was tired of being tired and overweight. Standing at 5'11" (181cm) I weighed in that morning at 264lb. I knew my weight had been creeping up over the years but I guess I had turned a blind eye to it.
From that point forward I've started to make myself accountable for what I was eating and how often I was working out. I realised I had become the master of making my own feeble excuses for not working out and a poor diet. Joining a 24hr gym that wouldn't dictate when I could work out was a game changer.
Using myfitnesspal and restricting my diet to about 1600cal a day whilst working out 5 times a week has allowed my to drop 40lb over the 5 months. This morning I weighed in at 223lb. 40lb down, 40 to go.
Only half way there and I feel great. Stacks more energy too. Who would've thought that now baggy clothing can be such a morale booster!
To everyone posting on this Reddit - thanks. Your own stories of success are helping me and giving me motivation.
Let's crush it 👊
