For the past few months I have been losing weight at a slow but steady pace of 1/2 to 1 lb a week.
I reached a new low weight last Sunday and hovered around it until Wednesday. Then on Wednesday evening I had my first slip-up in months. I was at a party, there was a buffet with lots of carbs, sweets and alcohol and I ended up eating 3,000 calories over my TDEE.
Predictably, I gained 5 lbs overnight. I tried to move on and not dwell over it, expecting those few pounds to come off in the next days.
But it's been more than three days now and I am still 3 lbs above Wednesday's weight, sitting at the weight I was one month ago. I cannot accept that one single day of indulgence can blow away three weeks of progress and, since I am back to a deficit, I am starting to question my own metabolism because the math just doesn't add up and I should have already lost that weight and then some.
Any advice? Any idea? Is it possible this 3 stubborn lbs will come off in the next days? It's just so frustrating!
