MFP says jogging 10 mins twice is the same as jogging 20.

Hey guys,

I noticed this recently when I had a terrible flare up of pain half way through my regular 20 minute jog. I had to stop, take a rest, and stretch for a while before starting again.

I ended up doing 10 minutes jogging, 10 minute rest, and 10 minutes jogging again, so I put it in MFP as 2 entries of 10 minutes.

I was surprised to see the calories burned is exactly the same as if I'd done 20 minutes, but surely that can't be right?

If I bring my heartrate back down to resting how can I burn as much as if I continued without stopping?

Would love some clarification on this if anyone knows why MFP does this and what is a more accurate measurement.
