Mental hunger post dieting?

So I dieted down like crazy (800cal p/day) two years ago, obviously I had an eating disorder/ was uneducated on how to sustainably lose weight and turn it into a lifestyle. I have since recovered and eat more than double that! I did go through the common phase of extreme hunger where I would eat large quantities, I know this was just my body needing the nutrients! But now I have this thing with mental hunger- eating beyond fullness. It’s like my mind is obsessed with food, if I’m bored I’ll just eat and at night I always need to have a full belly....I wonder if anyone has any strategies to overcome mental hunger because I’m eating beyond comfort, it’s not a binge, but I eat for the sake of it - not because I am enjoying it (***I do enjoy food...just not beyond the point of feeling uncomfortably full) If anyone has been in the same boat and has tips that would be great!
