I am lazy, undisciplined and it apparently works

This time around I decided to try something a bit different. I set up for a very gentle program with the focus of feeling good while doing it and I'm not even adhering to that all that well. And I'm still actually losing weight. That's a big revelation. I was always one of those people who tried to push themselves as far as it goes and then break. Diet to punish previous transgressions. It has to be extreme. It has to be unpleasant. That's what I get for gaining all that. Well, screw that.

In truth, it almost happened this time around as well. I was getting near religious even with all my loosely defined rules. But precisely because it was so riddiculous I noticed and dialed back in time. I gave myself a brief period to find my bearings, but then just got really lazy about it. And I'm still losing weight, slowly but surely. Weirdly, it comes in bouts and it's not steady at all, but eh, not important. I made room for myself to do the things I should be doing and to enjoy them. I eat good food. I researched meal sizes and now I know how much food is enough to cook. I came across new recepies. Tried new delicious ingredients. Decided that I'm worth the additional cost of quality food that is so much more satisfying. I scheduled exercise. I also walk a lot. It makes me feel good. I like seeing improvements. Being outside clears my head. My partner is singing odes about how alive I look now. I even stopped counting calories at all where I was keeping an eye on them retrospectively in the begining. I still eat cookies. Could it really be this easy? Was I just stressing myself over nothing in the past?
