Got diagnosed with idiopathic intracranial hypertension + I gotta lose a lot

Anyone else have this? Obesity and rapid weight gain are the big risk factors apparently. (Also more common in women.) My neurologist wants me to lose 50 lbs; that and meds seem to be primary treatment.

I’m 36, 4’11” and 250, so I’ve known that I’ve been playing fast and loose with my health. I’ve been obese for much of my life but mostly felt healthy and active until the past few years. And now the shit has hit the fan and I have a condition.

I’ve lost weight several times doing CICO (also did WW but didn’t like their points, so I just went to mtgs but did CICO) and I know I can do it again, but I’m really just worried about my ability to keep it off long term and to lose weight quickly enough to bring down pressure in my head/stave off worse symptoms.

Basically this is gonna suuuuuuuuck.

Just want to vent bc I don’t know anyone else losing weight right now, or anyone else with this condition.
