Hi!I saw this subreddit and was hoping that it would be helpful on my weightloss journey.
I curse my shortness (5'1") because according to BMI, 150 is overweight, borderline obese.
I've struggled with emotional eating since I was 12, and though it does relieve stress or boredom for a while, I can't seem to be happy with my weight and appearance. I've been depressed throughout junior high while I was homeschooled, which made the refrigerator a little too accessible at the time, so I gained a lot during that period. Unlike my siblings, I have grown a distaste for sports and physical activities, despite my parents' efforts to find something that suited me. Not only that, I'm the only one in my family who's on the bigger side while my siblings are either fit or lean.
I really want to change.
Here are some changes I've made:
- I've been taking multivitamins every morning
- It's wintertime and my home is too small for exercise equipment, so I got the Wii Fit game and Balance Board and have been tracking my progress every morning while doing 15 mins of cardio
- I've been taking more trips to the library and spending long hours there to avoid eating since food is not allowed
- I have a set goal of reaching between 120-125 lbs
Is there any other advice anyone can give me? I'm still in college and I still can't seem to shake off that freshman 15.
