Woohoo! This is purely pre-celebratory. Not there yet but...
I started this journey over a year ago, at 194lbs. At the time I didn't know anything about losing. This community helped me a lot. I lost a stone in the first six months, then my dad got a brain tumour (he survived, thankfully) and I let the good habits go. Started gaining weight again. Then it took me the best part of a year to get myself back in a losing frame of mind.
In September I set myself the goal of reaching 170lbs by Christmas. And - importantly - I WROTE IT DOWN. I heard once that if you write something down you're more likely to achieve it. I've no idea where that original note it, but it lodged in my mind just fine, and I keep coming back to it every time I'm tempted with high calorie food.
Today I hit 171. Just 1lb to go. Can hardly believe it. So now the challenge of staying disciplined for the last few days. But at this rate I should make 170 by Christmas.
I'm expecting to gain a bit over the holidays, and my next - and ultimate - goal is 160. Next milestone is my birthday in a couple of months. It would be great to be at target by the time I'm 38, although 2mths might be a bit punchy for that last stone.
Anyway, thanks for the support - and I'm looking forward to a full celebratory post in a week or so after I lose that last pound!!
