How do you get back momentum when making a permanent change in eating habits?
I found out I have diabetes in August. I immediately changed my eating habits, cut calories to 1200, started measuring portions, and logged everything in MFP.
I'm stalled now. I'm tired of logging everything into MFP. I rationalize it as 'I eat the same breakfast every morning, I know how many calories that has.' I'm also just tired of this restrictive eating which will never go away.
I have an appointment with my doctor in December to check in on my progress and just one more month before my blood work. There's a chance she will give me more meds if my lifestyle changes weren't enough to reverse a couple of bad trends. I don't want that!
Losing ten lbs in two months is more than I've ever lost in such a short period of time. I lost 15 lbs last year during Covid through diet tweaks and increased exercise (and maybe due to the undiagnosed diabetes).
I have not added consistent workouts to my schedule which is an important part of improving insulin sensitivity. I try to get an uphill hike in 2x a week and a walk or two. I find it really hard to exercise when I'm eating low cal. I was thinking of joining a gym to mix things up but am not sure I want to because of Covid.
I feel like I need to do something big, something to mix things up, a new tool to focus on.
