Does anyone here lose weight more effectively when they don’t count calories?

Hi everyone, I was counting calories at the beginning of losing weight 5’5 F SW: 142 CW: 136 GW: 128 but now I’ve discovered I’m losing more weight when I’m not counting calories. For me, it was a trigger that made me think of food throughout the day. I tend to know what a good portion size for myself is and I’ve been stopping eating once I feel satisfied (not full). I’ve found that this method keeps me from thinking “I have 500 calories left today I can have a few cookies, etc.” Calorie counting got me started, but did anyone else stop counting after you reached a certain point in controlling portion sizes? As a side note, I workout about 5/6 days a week and have started running. The weight has been dropping off faster since I started running instead of walking, which could be another factor in losing some weight. I would love to hear other people’s perspectives on counting calories!
