Advice losing weight with chronic illness?

Hi everybody! Thank you for taking the time to read this. As the title says, I’m looking for advice from anyone who’s had success losing weight when struggling with chronic pain/illness.

This is not a pity party by any means, just an explanation of my current situation. I lost my job like many others due to covid back in March. Being so sedentary and not having health insurance anymore led to weight gain and worsening health issues. I want so badly to lose this weight and I’ve been trying to find that motivation but even when I’m able to overcome exhausted and workout I end up being in terrible pain afterwards. I definitely acknowledge that I’m turning to food for comfort during this awful year, and I can’t stop seem to break this cycle.

Any tips or encouragement would be much appreciated. Even though I’m new here I’m already so grateful for communities like this!!
