I'm on mobile so please excuse the formatting.
So after "plateauing" (really, got discouraged by water weight and reacted by eating more and exercising less) for three weeks, I realized I need to eat roughly 1250 calories a day (as a ~205 lb female at 5'4") to meet my end-of-August goal of 189 pounds. Today was the first day of 1250 calories (after weeks of 1450/1500) and I realized three things after starting a remote office job:
-
Getting in 250 steps an hour feels good. I notice if it's been over an hour since I got up and paced around my apartment, since my body doesn't like sitting for long periods of time.
-
Homemade food tastes... better. I am pretty picky and asking the waiter about whether or not a dish has sauce etc. is pretty exhausting. (Also fast food/restaurant employees get confused with special orders where I live.) Tbh I made a chicken sandwich that took 4 minutes of active work for something that tastes better to me than a Chick-fil-A grilled chicken sandwich - which I never thought I'd say because pre-diet me would eat Chick-fil-A for every email if it wouldn't be over $20 a day.
-
Weighing myself at night is honestly what broke my plateau - 203 sounds high compared to my occasional 201 morning weights, but it is soooo much better than 208 at night (after a meal with clothes etc etc).
Overall, I am 7 weeks in and crossed back into obese class 1 and I weigh as much as I did last November. Gotta keep perspective, and I wouldn't have gotten this far without this subreddit and the lose weight eat pizza Facebook!
