I know that people say this a lot and I know that most people don't believe it, I used to think it was impossible to not lose weight in a deficit, too... And now here I am, not losing weight in a deficit.
Back story, at one point I lost 90 pounds and got down to what felt was a pretty good weight for my height. I was never skinny, but I also have a large frame for a woman. When the pandemic hit I kinda went off the rails and gained about 40 pounds back. I decided to start doing something about it a little over two months ago. I've been meticulous about logging my calories, my BMR is around 1790 and I always eat less than that. My only cheat days are once a week and I still don't eat above my BMR. I do incline sprints on a treadmill about 3 times a week and lift weights 2-3 times a week. I started at 222 lbs, since then I've fluctuated between 217 and 227 but currently I'm back to 222, right where I started. It was never this difficult to lose weight before and I was definitely eating more than I am now, so I just don't understand.
The only change I've noticed in my body is my legs are more muscular, but my clothes all fit the same, if not a little tighter.
I have had my thyroid checked recently and even though one of the levels is borderline low the doctor said it's fine. They won't even talk to me about PCOS because my periods are regular, so I'm out of options with a doctor and I'm ready to just give up. I'm thinking about trying 1200 calories a day, but at my size and activity level, that just seems so hard to stick to. I will take absolutely any advice anyone has, please.
