I’m trying this new ice cream that’s so good, I caught myself eating what probably amounted to 2/3 cup with my spoon straight out of the tub. To make up for that, I didn’t eat tater tots with my falafel burger tonight and that’s what I call a win!

So tonight I’m making some 4th of july strawberry/blueberry shortcake with my friends for a little bachelorette night, so I knew I wanted to save a little bit of calories for later tonight.

But whilst making dinner, when I went to grab the tater tots from the freezer, the shiny new ice cream I got yesterday caught my eye and somehow a spoon made its way into my hand and I couldn’t tell you how but 5 minutes later I found myself having eaten a whole serving of ice cream by the spoonful (200 cals or so). Anyway so I decided to re-evaluate and ditch the tater tots with cheese (-350 calories) and eat just my avocado bacon falafel burger on a whole wheat bun with a sparkling water (and I planned to eat some butternut squash if I was still hungry but I was actually very satisfied!) and now I feel SO good about it because I’m proud of myself for catching myself in the act of mindless eating and using my frontal lobe enough to re-evaluate so I could still enjoy a little bit of space for the dessert later!:)

Edit: the new ice cream is Edy’s light ice cream mint chocolate chip and choc chip cookie dough (previously I was a Target favorite day ice cream gal). Goddd it’s SO good and 150-170 calories per 1/2 cup.
