I need advice about going to the gym

I’m getting quite anxious about it.

I’ve lost 2 st from diet alone and have another 2 st left to go until my GW but when I heard about a new gym opening in my town I thought it could be worth a go. The nearest gym in the past has been 30 miles away, apart from a local college gym which is full of men weight lifting (that scared me!)

I’ve signed up for an induction course on Wednesday but I have no idea what to expect. Apparently they have treadmills and bikes and all the latest gym equipment.

I have a fused thoracic spine and sciatica so I don’t know if any of the machines will suit me. It’s quite expensive (not that my health has a price tag) but I want to know if it’s going to be worth it for me. Does anyone have any advice on what machines or work outs could benefit me? I know a rowing machine is a no go because of the strain on my spine but other than that I have no idea.

Are there any gym bunnies here that can advise me on what to look out for?
