Is Body Recomposition actually a thing?

Hey! I hope you all are surviving the week! I’m a 23M 6’0” SW 285 CW 257 GW 225. I grew up in competitive lifting, and lifted from 5th grade until I was a senior in highschool. I have a lot of muscle mass, but it’s still covered by a good chunk of fat. I’m currently eating 1750 calories a day, and I was curious if any of you had success with body recomposition? Is it really possible to burn fat while building muscle? I’ve been doing a fair amount of cardio but I’m no stranger to lifting and feel more comfortable with lifting at my current weight. I know that cardio is still necessary but I don’t want to blow my joints out running at 257. Any experienced advise would be very much appreciated! Thank you!!
