Checking to make sure I'm doing the right thing?

I'm on my second week now, let me start by saying I'm not expecting fireworks or incredible results but this is a maintenance check really. I really just want to make sure I'm doing the right thing. I have read the tips and worked out my caloric intake which should be 1532 per day to drop 2 pounds a week.

My first week I dropped 4 pounds by switching out all of my bad eating habits and walking a lot, I stopped getting take outs, switched chocolate to a tiny tiny bit of dark choc to nibble on, I mainly eat protein and fat. Going for long walks and eating mostly red meat, chicken, eggs, mini pork sausages and rice cake crisps when I get that craving.

I had been logging on the first week and going for walks, I've continued that this week but have stayed at the same weight. I'm going for a 1000 calorie deficit per day. I've switched out beer with gin and slim and rum and ginger.

Is this normal that one week I can just simply drop 4 pounds? Then do something very similar the following week and not drop anything? Any help/tips would be really appreciated.
