After eating drastically less sugar is it now makes me feel literally ill?

Anyone else experienced this? For the last couple months I’ve been eating waaaayyy less white sugar and also just sugar in general. Not really even on purpose but just a consequence of eating more whole foods. 16 pounds down out of 35 and feeling super good.

Today I deeeeefff had an overboard day and I’m learning to accept when that happens but most of what I overate was cake for my sisters bday. And.... now I literally feel ill. Like I ate my third piece (yes I know, leave me alone) and within the hour had a bit of a runny nose, overly tired, icky feeling, bla bla.

I figured maybe my body is like ..... not liking the sugar bc I’ve heard ppl say it’s super inflammatory. That would be insane!! Such an extreme reaction. Has anyone else experienced this? or maybe I just have a cold lollllll
